👋 Meet Daniel! 👋 One of the amazing Peer Support Worker’s in West Auckland ❤️✨ MORE
I’m Matt a country boy at heart, I was adopted with my older sister when I was 2 years old and moved to the country out the Manukau heads on a dairy farm, we had horses, sheep, goats, cows and I had my own dog. I use to love working on the farm and riding on the tractors and motorbikes.
I love sports and have done judo, hockey and rugby and do a lot of hunting and riding dirt bikes.
Now I support the Auckland Blues rugby team and love riding my road bike and often do group rides for charity.
I’m also a proud member of NA and sponsor men in recovery. I do a lot of service helping out, encouraging and offering hope that we can recover.
What inspired you to be a peer?
Because of my lived experiences with addiction and mental health I remember the people that helped me there smiles their hugs their nonjudgment really helped me get through some tough times. And I just want to give back
What fills your mental wellbeing cup on the weekend?
Family spending time with my children and grandchildren.
Connection spending time with friends doing something pro social together, Group rides, lunch, activities and lots of laughs and getting up to watch the sun rise just being grateful to be alive.
